Abstract:

This paper presents methodology for the selection of heat exchanger. A deterministic quantitative model based on graph theoretical methodology has been developed for calculating the permanent function and numerical index of heat exchanger selection factors. The permanent function is used for evaluation and analysis of heat exchanger. The heat exchanger (HE) selection factors are divided into subsystems and interactions between subsystems are represented into matrix form. This paper provides a general formula which can be applied to different heat exchangers (HE).
