Abstract:

In an emerging country like India, the agriculture plays an important role, especially when it comes to the production of sugarcane. India is the second largest country in the production of sugar after Brazil. Since sugar is made from Sugar cane, the residue left after using it in factories is termed as bagasse ash. Bagasse is disposed of in landfills and is now becoming an environmental burden. In this experimental research work concrete cubes, beams and cylindrical columns of M25 grade were casted and tested to examine various properties of concrete like workability, compressive strength, split tensile strength, and flexural strength. Sugar cane bagasse ash was partially replaced with cement at 3, 6, 9 and 12 % by weight of cement in concrete.
