  Sensor network consists of tiny sensors and actuators with general purpose computing elements to cooperatively monitor physical or environmental conditions, such as temperature, pressure, etc. Wireless Sensor Networks are uniquely characterized by properties like limited power they can harvest or store, dynamic network topology, large scale of deployment. Sensor networks have a huge application in field which includes habitat monitoring, object tracking, redetection, land slide detection and monitoring. As wireless sensor networks continue to grow, so does the need for effective security mechanisms. Because sensor networks may interact with sensitive data and/or operate in hostile unattended environments, it is imperative that these security concerns be addressed from the beginning of the system design. While there are many types of security attacks in WSNs, we have decided to focus our analysis on a particularly harmful one: the Sybil attack. A Sybil attack succeeds when a malicious node, called the Sybil node, illegitimately claims multiple false identities by either fabricating new identities or impersonating existing ones. The goal of a Sybil attack is to gain a disproportionate amount of influence over the network via its false identities. Now Sybil attack has caused too much threaten to wireless sensor network in routing, voting system, fair resource allocation, data aggregation and misbehavior detection. Hence many methods are being proposed to detect and prevent Sybil attack in wireless sensor network. A detailed study of these methods has been carried out and comparison table gives an overview of the method’s performance. Conclusions have been drawn using the comparison table. Parameters show how the method performs. Simulation work is performed on NS2 simulator. We have implemented the simple form of Sybil attack and an algorithm is proposed to detect Sybil attack. Performance evaluation is done using the packet delivery ratio, number of packets generated. The results shows that packet delivery ratio and number of packets generated for Sybil nodes are same in each scenario.

  Nowadays, Wireless Security Monitoring System is one major research topic in field of Intelligent Buildings. In this paper, we present a Wireless Home Security System Using ZigBee. Rather than using the traditional method to implement the real-time surveillance of the home security; the system was developed using ZigBee for the wireless connectivity. The system can set the alarm, Open the Door and Close the Door. The Hardware and Software and working of the system are explained in detail. A number surveillance device can be connected for further improvement of the system.

  Wireless Sensor Networks is the new concept in the field of networks consists of small, large number of sensing nodes which is having the sensing, computational and transmission power. Due to the lack of tamper-resistant packaging and the insecure nature of wireless communication channels, these networks are vulnerable to internal and external attacks. Moreover, routing protocols are designed, taking the consideration of power consumption not security as a goal. As security plays an important role in the ability to deploy and retrieve trustworthy data from a wireless sensor network. The proper operations of many WSNs rely on the knowledge of routing algorithms. However, most existing routing algorithms developed for WSNs are vulnerable to attacks in hostile environments. Current routing protocols assume the networks to be benevolent and cannot cope with misbehaviour of nodes. The misbehaviour may be due to node being malicious to save the battery power. Whenever any device comes within the frequency range can get the access to the transmitting data and may affect the transmission. Thus, this work has significant importance, to build a highly secure system through frequency hopping.

  Geo-polymer concrete (GPC) is such a new class and in the present study, to produce the geo-polymer concrete the Portland cement is fully replaced with GGBFS (Ground granulated blast furnace slag), VFP (vitrified fine powder) and alkaline liquids are used for the binding of materials. It posses the advantage of rapid strength gain, without water curing, good mechanical properties and durability properties and are eco-friendly and sustainable alternative to Portland based concrete. It the construction industry mainly the production of Portland cement causes the emission of air pollution which results in environment pollution. This paper presents the details of the studies carried out on development of strength for various grades of geopolymer concrete with varying replacement GGBFS and VFP. The alkaline liquids used in this study for the geopolymerization are sodium hydroxide (NAOH) and sodium silicate (Na2SiO3). Molarities of sodium hydroxide solution (14M) are taken to prepare different mixtures. The test specimens were 150 x 150 x 150 mm cubes, 150 x 300mm cylinders prepared with oven and ambient temperature curing conditions. The geopolymer concrete specimens are tested for their compressive strength at the age of 3,7 and 28 days. GPC mix formulations with compressive strength ranging from 10 to 80 MPa have been developed. Experimental investigations have been carried out on workability, the various mechanical properties of GPC. The test results indicate that the combination of Vitrified fine powder (VFP) and ground granulated furnace slag (GGBFS) can be used for development of geopolymer concrete.

  Jhalda II is one of the community development blocks under Purulia district in the state of West Bengal. Geographically it is situated in the eastern Chotanagpur plateau fringe. The area receives moderate to low rainfall in every monsoon season. Incidents of droughts exert its harsh effect on the socio economy of the selected areas people in almost every summer. To get rid of the situation, ground water uplift policy has been adopted which itself aggravating the state of ground water storage. Seasonal fluctuation of ground water depth mapping is an aspect which provides a clear idea about the dynamic state of ground water storage of an area. In order to support future planning present study incorporates a noble effort to mapping the ground water resource of the block as well as to find out the ground water scarcity zone.

  DNS, Domain Name System is a protocol that resolves hostnames to IP Addresses over the Internet. DNS, being an open source, it is less secure and it has no means of determining whether domain name data comes from an authorized domain owner. So, these vulnerabilities lead to a number of attacks, such as, cache poisoning, cache spoofing etc. Hence, there is a need of securing DNS. Digital Signatures are a good way of authenticating the domain owners. The digital signatures generated with public key algorithms have the advantage that anyone having the public key can verify them. Existing proposals include public key cryptographic algorithms (e.g., RSA, DSA etc.) for securing DNS. With the technology growing faster everyone accesses internet through mobile phones whether it is used to check E-Mails or visiting any secure sites, ECDSA involving ECC (Elliptic Curve Cryptography) concepts having less key sizes as compared to RSA can be implemented to provide security to DNS.

  Brain Computer Interface (BCI) research is based on recording and analyzing electroencephalographic (EEG) data and recognizing EEG patterns associated with various mental states. BCIs had become an active research area in the last decade. The ability of The Multilayer Perceptron Neural Networks (MLPNN) to model non-linear relationship is appropriate to model the complex nature of EEG signals. MLPNN’s convergence rate is relatively slow and it often yields sub-optimal solutions. In this paper, it is proposed to enhance the classification ability of the MLPNN incorporating Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO). This optimization helps to overcome the slow convergence rate and to avoid local minimum. The features of motor imagery in the frequency domain are extracted using Hilbert transform, and Principal Component Analysis is used for feature reduction. This is classified by MLPNN modified with PSO.
