The aim of this project is to develop a device to detect rash driving on highways and to alert the traffic authorities wirelessly about the speed details and any speed violation. Accidents due to rash driving on highways are on the rise and people are losing their lives because of others mistakes. In the present system, to detect rash driving the police has to use a handheld radar gun and then aim at the vehicle to record its speed. If the speed of the vehicle exceeds the speed limit, nearest police station is informed to stop the speeding vehicle. This is an ineffective process as after detecting one has to inform the same and a lot of time is wasted. The proposed system will check on rash driving by calculating the speed of a vehicle using the time taken to travel between the two set points at a fixed distance and then transmit the data over 2.4GHz to the central control room. A set point consists of a pair of sensors comprising of an IR transmitter and an IR receiver, each of which are installed on either sides of the road. The speed limit set by the device is kept at the very location depending upon the traffic. The time taken by the vehicle to travel from one set point to the other is calculated by a microcontroller program. Based on that time it then calculates the speed and displays that on an LCD and also transmits the same. Moreover if the vehicle crosses the speed limit, a buzzer sounds alerting the police both at the location and wirelessly at the control room.

"Science is the study of the world as it is. Engineering is the creation of the world tomorrow". Science is basically “passive†observation of the universe, as it exists to generate knowledge. Engineering is making use of that knowledge to meet human needs by creating machine, systems, process and technologies that have not previously existed. In present systems number of applications & devices are operated manually. In school & college also after every class, one employee is engaged into alarming bell. To avoid this, atomization is very much necessary. This paper “Auto-fact security system†includes auto door system that is automatic opening closing of door using IR rays having frequency 430THz. Along with this we are also providing authentication through RF module. This RF module consists of a transmitter receiver pair which runs on 434MHz frequency. Operation of two doors is performed with the help of microcontroller 89c51 IC. This IC controls all the operations running in the interfaces, the input output devices like motor driver IC L293D, buzzer, etc. The first door is opened through the motor driver IC when there is an obstruction between IR transmitter and receiver. The second door is opened only for the authorized person of the factory having RF transmitter with them. If any unauthorized person tries to enter through the second door the buzzer will turn ON and the system will be locked and the person will get trapped.

Textile industries use different synthetic dye and generate huge volume of textile effluent containing complex mixtures of many polluting substances. The removal of colour from textile wastewater represents a major environmental concern. In this work, the removal of reactive black 5, a textile dye, from aqueous solution has been studied using photocatalysis in a UV annular reactor using TiO2 as catalyst. Photocatalysis is the acceleration of a photoreaction in the presence of a semiconductor catalyst. In this work, effects of reactor operating time, flowrate, solution pH on percent demineralization of dye has been studied. A 94% dye removal was achieved in near neutral solution (pH=6.4) compared to 75% removal in case of alkaline medium (pH=8.4). The kinetic of the photo-reaction has been found to follow Langmuir-Hinshelwood model.

In today’s world water is of a great concern to the human beings because we can’t survive without it. Hydraulic ram can be one of the solutions to this problem of a mankind. Mostly in India where villages are situated far away from the water source it is not possible to the people living there to go miles away carrying away the buckets of water. Especially at those places this pump has a much utility because it is cheap, without electricity and easy to maintain. As it requires no external energy other than kinetic energy of flowing water it can be considered as a pump which uses Renewable energy. Though the pump is in use since long time, it is not seen in common forms for lots of its performance limitations. This type of pump is truly a blessing to the rural areas, farmers and middle class for its zero running cost. The paper after study the literature available, aims to present generalised design methodology for hydraulic ram pump (HYDRAM) covering design parameters, design procedure along with the mathematical relationship used for the design work.

Pages: 306 - 309
Ultrasound imaging is a widely used imaging system for medical diagnosis due to its safe and noninvasive nature. However, the presence of speckle noise in the ultrasound image degrades its usefulness. Speckle noise in US B –mode images appears as granular structure formed by constructive or destructive interference of back scattered echoes. Speckle noise causes to reduce image contrast and resolution, thereby reducing the diagnostic value of this technique. Several methods have been introduced for despeckling of ultrasound images. This paper presents a review on some significant works proposed for despeckling of medical ultrasound images.

The shoreline is one of the most important features on earth’s surface. They are highly dynamic and ever changing. Changes are over time scales including minutes, hours, decades and Centuries. Spatial scales vary from local to regional to worldwide. Although change is continuously occurring, it doesn’t occur in a constant manner. Many factors influence these changes including the type of shoreline (rocky, sandy), wave activity, tidal variations, storms and human impacts. The shoreline change study is necessary for updating the shoreline change maps and management of natural resources. Shorelines are the key element in coastal GIS and provide the most information on coastal landform dynamics. The frequently monitoring coast only to accesses variation of shoreline changes. In this paper investigate the shoreline changes of Nellore district in Andhra Pradesh coast, as well as find the quantity of the erosion and accretion rate. Using multi-temporal resolution satellite data (TM & LISS III, IV) and Geographic information system (GIS) for past 25 years’ period i.e. from 1989 to 2015. Nellore having length of coast line is 167km for this study used. The resultant coastal maps were used to estimate the geomorphologic changes and shifting of the shoreline position. This integrated study is found useful for exploring accretion and erosion processes in the region. About 87.6km of coastline was found to be accreting nature with average of +1.40m/yr followed by 38.4km of coastal line eroding with average of -1.36m/yr and stable coastline of 41.4km was found. This study demonstrates that combined use of satellite imagery and statistical method such as linear regression for shoreline change analysis are helpful for erosion monitoring and preventive measure.
